We got our hands on a few of the modules from the Skaarhoj MC Series - a modular control surface for ATEM switchers and other broadcast devices.

Who this is for
We think these fit into anyone’s gear bag if they are running an ATEM or a supported device. In the past, we’ve talked about ways to control an ATEM with a MIDI keyboard, however, these are a much more professional and purpose-built way of mixing.
How it works
The Skaarhoj panels all work over a network - you connect the device either directly to your ATEM or to your router, tell it some IP information and it will talk with your devices.
When a button is pressed, it will send that signal to the ATEM - it’s as simple as that. This workflow means you’ll not be needing a computer attached to your switcher in order to control your devices.

Configurability
Not only will the panels work with your ATEM, there is a long list of devices that are also supported. You can simply install a “Device Core” to your panel in order to import extra functionality.
Some are released, some are in beta and other are planned for the future. Our favourite Device Cores include Blackmagic ATEM, Blackmagic HyperDeck, and vMix control.
What we love
The ability to setup control for our ATEM and HyperDeck on the same controller is really important to us. This makes for a cleaner and clearer process during any live show.
